Nonsense Yacht backers seek funds

Backers of the Nonsense Yacht are to raise money from public subscriptions and business sponsorship rather than from the government.

I think it is vital that a journal of the stature and importance of the International Journal of Nonsense should have its own yacht, said Grumb Stumpselsen, chairman of Man Mountain Enterprises which owns the IJN. It is crucial for the prestige of this esteemed international information resource that senior executives are seen to travel in splendor.

So far, 27p in postage stamps, 14cm of string and a cheese and onion pasty have been donated towards building the yacht. The current design, which was devised by Mr Stumpelsen himself, is estimated to cost £27billion.
